True Life Counseling, Inc., Description and History

Purpose:
True Life Counseling is a non-profit, non-denominational organization. Our purpose is to teach members of the body of Christ to experience and mature in the message of the Cross and the exchanged life, in all its implications, so they will be able to communicate the message effectively in their various spheres of influence. It is our desire that all may know Christ as Saviour, Lord and Life.

History:
True Life Counseling (TLC), formerly Crossroads Ministries (CRM), originally came into existence in March 1990 following Cheryl ZumBrunnen’s return from training at Exchanged Life Ministries, Aurora, Colorado. In 1994 CRM was dissolved upon David and Cheryl’s move to Denver, Colorado, where David received a Masters of Divinity with honors from Denver Seminary. During this time Cheryl served as a staff biblical counselor at Exchanged Life Ministries, Colorado.

In 1997 Mr. and Mrs. ZumBrunnen returned to Alaska and re-established Crossroads Ministries as a Non-Profit Corporation. The mission of CRM then, and TLC now, is that all who come will receive equal services regardless of their ability to pay for those services.

Since 1997, CRM/TLC has had the privilege of having up to three biblical counselors on staff, all sharing in the counseling and administrative needs of the ministry as we do not have the funds to have clerical staff support to date. The staff members have received their training at Exchanged Life Ministries, Aurora, Colorado, and through our local office.

Accomplishments:

· Instituted the True Life Advanced Counselor Training courses in 1997

· Member of the Association of Exchanged Life Ministries, 2000

· Co-Founders with Pastor Utham Kumar, Isaiah 61 Ministries, of Calvary Divine Bible School in Kallur, Andhra Praesh, India. Partners with Pastor Augustin Louis, Compassion F.I.R.E. Ministries training Pastors in the southern Indian states of Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamilnadu.
